Position Detail
Parent Rep

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE PARENT REP

 

1. The Parent Rep will receive 100% of their bond hours.

2. Follow the Constitution and Rules of Operation of the WBMHA.

3. Attend all scheduled WBMHA Parent Rep meetings.

4. Informing all players and/or parents/legal guardians of games and practices as well as passing on information from the Team Officials and the Executive.

5. Complete team fundraising applications and submit to the Executive for approval.  The fundraising applications must be submitted with adequate time for approval and before the fundraising event is to commence.

6. Keep a detailed summary of all bond hours your team parents have completed in the time box.  Provide this information to the parent rep scheduling when requested. You must ensure all parents have equal opportunity to these time box hours during all regular season games and all playoff   games.

7. Keep accurate records of all fundraising initiatives the team is approved to do.

9. The Coach is responsible for selecting one of their approved team officials to manage the Team Fundraising Finances.

10. You must perform the duties as outlined or bond hour time will not be credited.

11. Other duties as required.

12. Call parents in April to remind them of the Annual General Meeting.

Trainer

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE TRAINER

 

1. The Trainer will receive 100% of their bond hours.

2. Follow the Constitution and Rules of Operation of the WBMHA.

3.  In conjunction with the other Team officials, be responsible for the team during all WBMHA  sanctioned events.

4. Ensuring first-aid kit is stocked and water bottles are available for each activity where they are required.

5. Collect complete medical information forms for all players and maintain a file of same.

6. Checking all player’s equipment prior to games and practices.

7. Make necessary repairs and adjustments.  If beyond the scope of the trainer, inform the parent/legal guardian of what is required.

8. Leading team in stretching exercises prior to ice time.

9. Attending to injured players.

10. The trainer will fill out an OMHA Case Report any time a player is removed from the ice due to injury. A copy of the Case Report will be forwarded to the OMHA Center Contact.  The trainer            will retain the original. If the injury is serious the OMHA Center Contact will inform the REM    and the OMHA immediately.

11. The trainer will fill out an OMHA Canadian Hockey Injury Report and an OMHA Case Report any time a player is removed from the ice and requires medical attention due to injury.  A copy of                the Injury Report and Case Report will be forwarded to the OMHA Center Contact.  The trainer  will retain the original.  If the injury is serious the OMHA Center Contact will inform the REM and the OMHA immediately.

12. Any player requiring medical attention due to an injury will need to produce a doctor’s note, to the trainer, to return to play.  The trainer will attach the note to the original injury Report.

13. Attend 80% of your team’s games and practices, or you may be subject to suspension and bond hour time will not be credited.

14. Other duties as required.

Team Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE MANAGER

 

1. The Team manager will receive 100% of their bond hours.

2. Follow the Constitution and Rules of Operation of the WBMHA.

3.   In conjunction with the other Team officials, be responsible for the team during all WBMHA sanctioned events.

4. REP – Provide a player list to the Registrar immediately following Rep selection.

5. Locate dressing rooms for the team each ice time.

6. Fill out game sheets.

7. Collect team copies of game sheets after each game.

8. Ensure that the dressing room is locked and left tidy.

9. Maintaining a record of individual and team statistics, if required.

10. Ensure newspaper game reports are forwarded to local newspaper.

11. Managers must follow the Constitution and policies set by the Executive Committee. You must               attend 80% of your team’s games and practices, or you may be subject to suspension and bond hour time will not be credited.

12. Managers must attend a game sheet training session and throughout the season be responsible for the accurate completion of game sheets for all home games.

13. Other duties as required.

Assistant Coach

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ASSISTANT COACH

 

1. The Assistant Coach will receive 100% of their bond hours.

2. Follow the Constitution and Rules of Operation of the WBMHA.

3.  In conjunction with the other Team officials, be responsible for the team during all WBMHA  sanctioned events.

4. In conjunction with the other Team officials, plan and execute all practices and game plans.

5. Assist with collection of team sweaters and equipment.

6. Helping players with equipment in the dressing room.

7. You must attend 80% of your team’s games and practices, or you may be subject to suspension and bond hour time will not be credited.

8. Other duties as required.

Head Coach

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE HEAD COACH

 

1. The Head Coach will receive 100% of their bond hours.

2. Follow the Constitution and Rules of Operation of the WBMHA.

3. Attend all WBMHA scheduled Team Official’s meetings.

4. REP – Select the players for the Rep teams.  LOCAL LEAGUE – Evaluate and rank Local League players so that the Team Selection Committee can make an informed decision when evenly dividing the teams.

5. In conjunction with the other Team officials, be responsible for the team during all WBMHA  sanctioned events.

6. In conjunction with the other Team officials, plan and execute all practices and game plans.

7. be responsible for all WBMHA equipment and all WBMHA coaching materials

8. Collecting all WBMHA sweaters after each game.

9. Hold a team meeting at the beginning of the season to outline the standard team rules to players and parents/legal guardians. A copy of the team’s rules and a copy of the parent’s signature sheet be submitted to the OMHA and Local League Contact person.

10. Attend 80% of your team’s games and practices, or you may be subject to suspension and bond               hour time will not be credited.

11. Other duties as required.
